With more than 25 Years of experience between our Instructors, we are people who want to give back to our community by sharing our skills with you! We are passionate about Martial Arts and Grappling Sports in particular, yet we have many years in other Martial Arts including MMA & Striking arts. We will help you discover and meet your goals within the sport with the encouragement and support from the whole team!!!

Squids Classes (Kids Classes, see what we did there?) are great to keep your kids entertained, fit and develop social skills in a controlled environment!

Our classes are based on having fun within the structure of a Grappling environment.

First Week is FREE!!!
Adult Classes!

Adult Classes are a fantastic way to develop fitness, build self defense skills, lose weight and enjoy an active and healthy social life!

Our Classes are designed to be scalable for any level of Practitioner, and if you haven't trained before, your first week is FREE!!!
1 to 1 Private Classes!

1 to 1 Private Classes - or small group classes are an awesome way to build skills with more focus from an experienced Practitioner!

INSTRUCTORS
SIMON DUGDALE
Simon started his martial arts journey at 13 years old obtaining his Black Belt as an Adult in Taekwondo. In the mid-2000's he found MMA appealing and in particular the ground fighting. In 2008, Simon started learning Jiu Jitsu and MMA obtaining his Brown Belt in 2021. Simon is our on-site Level 4 Sports Therapist and holds a Level 1 Yoga for BJJ Instructor qualifying in 2022.

STEPHEN STANLEY
Steve took to BJJ/MMA with a great aptitude in 2009 and started competing in amateur MMA events soon after. This lead to a Pro-MMA run of 2-2 including 2 fights under the UCMMA banner. Steve was promoted to Black Belt in 2017 and received his 1st Degree from Carlson Gracie Jr in 2021. Steve went on to compete many times in BJJ including winning the coveted English Open Championships at Brown Belt and Black Belt.

Mandy Beardsley
Mandy is our Welfare Officer for the Kraken Grappling Academy. Mandy acts as an independent, impartial participant in the club for any welfare concerns for Children and Adults.

Mandy joined us at our Beginners Course in May 2021 and has been with us ever since. As a Teacher she is awesomely qualified as our assistant coach and Welfare Officer within the Squids Class.

Jack D'Cruz
Jack is the Kraken Grappling Academy Squids Coach. Starting Jiu Jitsu in 2010 at the legendary Infinity MMA Club before travelling around the globe and finding himself training with NoGi Specialist Lachlan Giles in Australia. Jack is now back in England and was awarded his Blue Belt from the original Infinity MMA Instructor, Shane Burr, in 2019.
